This unique image shows an intense red sprite which was very near to the observer (about 130 km). It is not easy to see this short (several ms) and subtle phenomenon with eyes. Pavel Štarha reported that this sprite was well visible including its red color. Several other sprites were visible with naked eyes (including this one) which enabled correct setting of the camera field of view. The exact position of the red sprite in the sky is shown in this star map generated by the Sky Charts software.
