Massimiliano Lattanzi from Italy joined the Shadow-tracking Expedition project long before the eclipse. He took full advantage of the excellent observing conditions in Sahara desert and obtained a valuable set of digital images. The processing took me and my daughter Hana relatively long time because we had to overcome problems with processing of Nikon D 70 images. The Nikon software, on the contrary to Canon, doesn't allow to extract linear images from the NEF format, what we need for our image processing techniques. Finally the problem was partially solved by Iris software, which enables to extract the raw unprocessed image matrix, and partially by our own software which we made for this purpose. The resulting images show the corona up to 2-3 solar radii in extraordinary details.
