Comparison of solar corona during 1994 and 2008 total solar eclipse

This pair of images shows solar corona on November 3, 1994 and August 1, 2008. The image of 1994 eclipse was horizontally flipped i. e. the image represents the view in reversed direction as if the Earth were on the opposite side of its orbit. The similarity of the images is breathtaking. If you take into consideration the lower resolution of the 1994 image and the fact that the image was taken through thin cirrus clouds, you will realize that many features are nearly identical.
