Comparison of total solar eclipse image (left) and SOHO LASCO C2 image (right)
The pair of images shows the solar corona at the same time. The images were aligned by means of phase
correlation so the field of view of both images is identical. In order to make the comparison easier
you may see another version of this pair in which the part or
the solar corona invisible in the SOHO image was removed from eclipse image.

Processing | Composition of 48 eclipse images - (1) 19 images and (2) 29 images. Eclipse images were calibrated by means of dark frames and flat-fields, aligned by means of phase correlation, composed by means of LDIC 5.0 software, processed using Corona 4.1 in order to visualize coronal structures. Final processing was done using ACC 6.1 software. Image processing by Miloslav Druckmüller |
