Wide-angle image
This image was created from data acquired with a 200 mm focal-length lens. The image is oriented with
terrestrial north at the top. The low altitude of the Sun above the horizon is clearly apparent. The
lower-right image corner is the closest to the horizon and it is therefore darker and no stars are
visible there. The bands parallel to the horizon are caused by layers of haze of varying density in
the valley. It is remarkable that even the distant corona is clearly visible when the Sun is only 7
degrees above the horizon.

| Processing | Composition of 433 eclipse images ((1) 225, (2) 208). Eclipse images were calibrated by means of dark frames and flat-fields, aligned by means of phase correlation, composed by means of LDIC 6.0 software, processed using Corona 6.0 in order to visualize coronal structures.
