I found images taken by Göte Flodqvist on 31 July of 1981 on the Internet by chance and they attracted me attention immediately. The main reason was that unique narrow band Fe XIV and Fe X images of 1981 eclipse taken by Július Sýkora were at that time already processed in the MMV project archive, but white-light images were still missing because of bad weather conditions on the observing place. Göte Flodqvist from Sweden was more lucky and observed the eclipse on blue sky with perfect weather conditions. My daughter Hana wrote an email to Göte and he sent us his original slides for processing. After 28 years, the modern scanner and modern mathematical tools enabled to take full advantage of his unique images and to create an interesting image of the solar corona very near to solar cycle maximum.
