The high-quality images of the 1991 total solar eclipse were provided for the MMV project by Ronald E. Royer. His images were waiting for processing more than one year because we didn't have an available high-quality film scanner for large film formats. Finally, we bought an excellent large-format scanner which enabled not only processing of Ronald's images, but in the future it makes possible to include historical eclipse images in the MMV project. Especially large-format glass plates used in the past contain valuable data and we hope that the scanner will take full advantage of them.
